1 Applicants applying for an Offshore General Skilled Migration (GSM) visa can be either in or out of Australia at time of lodgement though must be offshore at time of grant. Exceptions apply for holders of a Special category Visa (Subclass 444), who can be in or out of Australia at time of grant for an Offshore GSM visa.
2 This includes the following permanent GSM visas:
- Skilled – Independent (Residence) visa (Subclass 885) (Onshore)
- Skilled – Independent (Migrant) visa (Subclass 175) (Offshore)
- Skilled – Sponsored (Residence) visa (Subclass 886) (Onshore)
- Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) visa (Subclass 176) (Offshore)
3 The Skilled – Regional (Subclass 887) visa is only available to holders of the following provisional GSM visas:
- Skilled – Independent Regional (Subclass 495)
- Skilled – Designated Area Sponsored (Subclass 496)
- Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Subclass 487) (Onshore)
or - Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Subclass 475) (Offshore)

Hi - inform how much time taken for e457 visa after medical and insurance okay. I have completed my medical report and sent to Health centre on Jan 10th 2012.

Hi
My husband is in sydney now and me in India.
His company is sponsoring him for 457 visa. we are through a migrant agent. Till now we came to know that two stages have been done and we got TRN number on May 20th 2011.Can you please tell us more how many days will it take for the visa. Does the new budget rules for less processing time applicable to our visa?

i have my tr with me . i need to apply for the pr and iam eligible ,to apply .but the problem is iam in australia and apply in australia . then after applying i have to go overseas ,will it effect my application weather it is allowed to go overseas and come when pr is granted .
